Our Family
This is a blog about our family. My journal of our adventures. We're just trying to do our best raising 2 crazy kids (or maybe we're the crazy ones). Eight years of marriage under our belts, and still lots of new adventures and surprises on this road called life.

In loving memory of my mom- Kathleen Nelson Higgins May 11, 1954-December 29, 2008. She is my warrior and I wear pink in honor of her.

Grace and I made Snickerdoodle cookies today. A few years ago I found a really good recipe for them and thought I would share.

Soft Snickerdoodle Cookies

1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

3 Tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs thoroughly in a large bowl.
3. combine flour, cram of tartar, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl.
4. Blend dry ingredients into butter mixture.
5. Chill dough, and chill and ungreased cookie sheet for about 10-15 minutes in fridge.
6. Meanwhile, mix 3 Tlbs sugar and 3 tsps cinnamon in small bowl.
7. Scoop 1 inch globs of dough into cinn/sugar mixture.
8. Coat balls by gently rolling in sugar mixture.
9. Place on chilled ungreased cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes.
10. Remove from pan immediately.
