Alright, so since moving to Utah we have joined the ranks and gotten into football a little bit. Since Adam grew up in Idaho and me in Wyoming, we never really watched or got into college ball- or sports for that matter. To make things worse, we both went to BYU-Idaho the year the school stopped playing competitive sports. Long story short, when Adam started his MBA at the U of U we became fans and now we finally made it to our first game. We took my dad with us and we all had a great time. I think it's hilarious how in football everyone talks to themselves the whole game- I got an ear full on both sides :). Thanks dad for coming with us, we had a ball!
Our seats were pretty high up but we ended up right on the 50 yard line so they turned out to be great!
I love Adam and I love how now he's into football because in his words, "if you don't watch the game, you don't have anything to talk about at work or church the next day." I never realized how quickly office culture would come into our lives.
During half time Adam went and got some snacks. The nachos came with a 'cup-o-cheese' which was supposed to be hot. When Adam poured the cheese out it came out like this- almost a solid block, yikes. Needless to say Adam was the only one enjoying the cheesy goodness- his paper bowl made a great peanut shell tray afterwards.
This picture is for Ami- there were lots of "flaggets ":). It was fun to have a band and all that big school stuff we didn't experience during our bachelor's degrees.

I think we're all hooked enough we might look at season tickets for next fall. It's a fun atmosphere and something fun we all loved, I guess that is why football is such a generational thing and a big deal to everyone around here. As for our loyalties, we were trying to explain to my dad we haven't forsaken our time at BYU-Idaho (ask almost anyone, BYU-Idaho is not the same school as BYU Provo) but taken on crimson and gone on to support our recent educational endeavours. That being said- GO UTES!
P.S. Utah won against Air Force in overtime U:23 AF:16

Shoot! Them flaggets ain't got nothin' on me.
ReplyDeletehahahahahahahahhahaha!!! i'm cracking up over the blob of cheese and the pic for Ami, and her comment!!!!!!! i don't blame you for going crimson red on us, it's sad and depressing here in rexburg... soooo sad when we're contemplating going to high school games just to cheer for SOMEONE. Ted looks HAWT in his hat... love him.
ReplyDeleteMy dad is adventuring out on his own in the style department. We told him he looks like he should be driving some racy car, who knows maybe next week he'll have a porche.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys had fun! Those nachos look appetizing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day and it is always nice to have time together without the kiddos!
